Barry Anderson - Member for 7 years - Mentor - Role on Team: Mechanical CAD Electrical
Barry has been a mentor on the team for seven years. He mainly works with the mechanical team, helping with the drive train and the system. "I love robots - and I've built a couple of battle bots myself" (Barry). One of the things he has learned from being a mentor is to not set his expectations to high and, most importantly, be patient. He loves how fun robotics in. In his free time he enjoys playing Frisbee golf and spring board diving. His goal is to have the robot finished and on time.

Charles (Charlie) - Member for 2 years - Student - Role on Team: Programming
This is Charles second year on the team. He is a part of the programming team. Charlie had a blast last year and is excited to come back. One of the many things he has learned from robotics is how to use LabVIEW. Outside of school he is a part of marching band (tenor sax) and is also in a band called "Shamwari". He isn't quite sure about his future at the moment; he just wants to have a fun high school experience.

Daniel (Dan, Dani, Danno (you pick!)) - Member for 1 year - Student - Role on Team: Electrical
Daniel joined the team his freshman year only two weeks before kickoff. He does some other things outside school like Track and Cross-Country so his schedule is a little hectic. Because of his late joining he felt fairly "out of the loop" and didn't really know anyone. But by the second week he already felt accepted and part of the team. He works on the electrical part of the team and is pretty new to all of the amazing things that go on around the workplace. Daniel first learned about the team through his teacher and one of the mentors, David Clark. His future goals are to either go to West Point or the Air Force Academy and become a career officer in the military, or make it to Brown or MIT and get a degree as both a biotechnician and a biochemist. While he is still thinking about his future, focusing on the 'bot and the team are his priorities right now.

Dave - Member for 6 years - Mentor - Role on Team: Mechanical Pneumatics
Dave works mostly with mechanical, the manipulator, and pneumatics! He joined robotics because "I wanted to give high school students a learning opportunity I wished I had when I was in high school." He has learned how to effectively teach young people. Holy cow it’s hard. His favorite thing about robotics is seeing students put in to practice the concepts he's taught them. He likes seeing the students grow in intelligence and maturity over their time on the team. Outside of robotics he enjoys golf, hockey, tennis, hiking, weightlifting, camping, fishing, and is also a humane society foster parent. He dreams of taking over the world.

Divya (Mom) - Member for 4 years - Student - Role on Team: Project Management
Divya loves Robotics. She is the Project Manager of the team. She leads the team by creating Gantt charts, setting goals and deadlines for the build season, and ensuring that all aspects of the team are always on track. She writes grants and business presentations for science & engineering companies and organizations including the American Astronautical Society. Divya is currently training Amanda Frazier to take over her position. She has learned much about both the technical aspects of robotics, including mechanical engineering and programming, and the business applications. Apart from robotics, she also participates Speech and Debate, Ecology Club, National Honor Society, Band, Community Service, and is conducting research at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She was recently honored with an internship at NASA Johnson Space Center along with teammate Noah Clark in Summer 2009. She learned much from the experience, and would love to return to NASA as an astronaut someday.

This is Ethan's third official year of robotics. He leads the pneumatics team. He also helps out the mechanical team often. His "addiction" to putting things together and taking them apart, and vice versa, was what attracted him to robotics. He has learned how to build a robot and build a pneumatics board. His favorite thing about robotics is how everyone is always in a joyful mood. Outside of school, he loves to play video games and ride his bike.

Ian has been on the team for 2 years. He is one of the 2 people in the electrical department. Outside of robotics, he has been in martial arts for 4 years and is head section leader of the baritones in the marching band. Ian has learned many things involving electronics, as well as very important information regarding decision making (Design matrix!). He is unsure about what field he is going into, but it will probably be electrical, aeronautical, or astrological engineering.

So far she's had a great time. It's hard to say what her favorite part of robotics is because whether it’s hanging out with everyone at robotics, or learning about algorithms and programming, she has a lot of fun. Outside of school Taylor likes to read, sketch, and hang out with her friends. She hopes to be a bioinformatician some day.
